Residencies and Partnerships

March 2019 Residency at Central Michigan University

In March 2019, Evan Ware (Assistant Professor of Composition and Music Theory) invited ÆPEX Contemporary Performance to Central Michigan University for a weekend-long residency and recording session that culminated with a performance of Evan’s two chamber symphonies with soprano soloist Amy Petrongelli in front of a crowd of 250 attendees in the Staples Family Concert Hall in Mt. Pleasant, MI.

ÆPEX’s residency activities included masterclasses with string, brass, and woodwind performance majors, an arts entrepreneurship round table, and chamber music readings and recordings with composition majors.

We want to work with you!

ÆPEX does more than produce its own concerts - we love working with students, faculty, and guest artists in a variety of workshops and partnerships. We even love connecting touring artists who are coming to Michigan with relevant venues and media contacts, and we also love simply helping to spread the word about exciting performances in our area.

If you, your school, or your ensemble would like to collaborate with ÆPEX to present your contemporary music program, please contact us at

Interested in cultivating a non-traditional or multi-disciplinary performance experience? We love those, too!
